The FDA has issued a new warning to men using testosterone medications, stating that these medications can increase your risk of blood clots, heart attack and stroke. The agency says that men over the age of 65 who use these medications see their risk of heart attack double within the first three months of therapy. Men under the age of 65 with a history of heart disease see their risks triple in this same amount of time. The FDA has found that many men who are using these dangerous medications are using them for off label treatments such as addressing low-libido. They have also found a significant number of men using these medication have not had their testosterone levels checked and may be using the medications unnecessarily. However, the risk is the same regardless of why these medications have been prescribed, and victims of serious side effects may be entitled to seek compensation through legal action.
